Museum Building Programs Survey

Begin Survey

ABOUT: The following questionnaire is being used to gather data for the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museum's Annual "Building Museums" symposium. All museum professionals who have been or will be involved in a building project (e.g., addition, renovation, new building) between 2000 and 2015 are encouraged to participate in this survey. In addition to basic information, the survey includes questions about planning, developing the design, finances, fundraising, communications, closings/openings, staffing and oversight, and evaluation.

DOWNLOAD THE QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE: This survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. We recommend that you download the complete list of questions before completing the survey. Once you begin the survey, you cannot save your answers and return at a later date. Download questions (.pdf)

USE OF DATA: In conjunction with the George Washington University Museum Studies program the data will be used in educational programs. In addition, a future publication on the topic of Building Museums will also draw on the lessons compiled from this survey. A summary report will be developed and results shared with all museums completing the questionnaire.
