DEADLINE EXTENSION: MAY 15, 2009
InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual InformationWeek 500 listing. To be contacted regarding the 2009 listing, please complete the following questions. [Note: If you are a public relations company filling out the form on behalf of your client, please include your client's name.]
Unique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders. There are multiple ways for your organization to achieve recognition for its achievements! Candidate organizations are asked to complete an application as well as an essay question. Essay winners will be featured in the InformationWeek 500 issue and recognized at the InformationWeek Conference and Awards Gala in September 2009.
Now in its 21st year, the InformationWeek 500 tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of the best-known companies in the country. 2008 winners include National Semiconductor, Hilton Hotels, NetApp, FedEx and Del Monte Foods, among others.
Between the opportunities to showcase your company as one of the most innovative users of technology, to the outstanding content planned for the InformationWeek 500 Conference and Awards Gala where the winners will be revealed, we believe that InformationWeek 500 is going to be one of the hottest programs of the year. Here’s what some of last year’s winners had to say:
It was a great honor to be named as the top-ranking company in the 2008 InformationWeek500. This achievement not only acknowledged National’s innovation in information services and supply chain management, it has encouraged us to continually find ways to collaborate and use technology creatively.
-- Julie Wong, Acting CIO, National Semiconductor
Hilton’s legacy of commitment to innovation has been uniquely packaged to deliver superior customer service, improve our operational efficiencies, drive revenue throughout our properties around the globe, and establish a clear advantage for our brands. Winning this ranking creates quite a compelling story of success as we court new franchises and management deals around the world.
--Tim Harvey, CIO & Executive VP of Global Shared Brand Services, Hilton Hotels
The recognition Highmark received from InformationWeek validates the commitment our company has made to provide innovative technology solutions that help our customers lead healthier lives. Furthermore, it focuses national attention on Highmark’s technology team, which has been extremely successful for many years in working with the company’s business units to increase operational efficiencies and improve customer relationships.
-- Michael Kronenwetter, VP, Technology Management, Highmark
[Our InformationWeek 500 award showed] our investors, our clients, even our own management and employees where we stand. We are tops in the banking and financial services segment and fourth overall in the nation. It’s something we are all excited about – a real morale booster.
-- Richard Jones, Executive VP & CIO, Fiserv
Taking risks in the business world can be difficult, and taking them in the insurance industry—not known for its love of risk—is a special kind of challenge. The intense, long-term work that went into the creation of Simply Unum was an investment in a transformative way of doing business. And the recognition of Unum in the top 5 of the 2008 InformationWeek500 was a powerful confirmation of the value of what we delivered.
-- Kathy Owen, CIO and Senior VP, Unum
-- Rick Klausner, VP, Information Technology, UUS Enterprise Architecture
