The following questions are the objectives from The Brooklyn Schools 2006-2009 Technology Plan. The Staff Technology Committee is attempting to gather information as to whether specific objectives have been met as of this date. Your responses will assist us as we plan for the 2010-2012 Technology Plan. Please answer the questions to reflect if you think the objective has been met.
An answer for each question is not required, please skip if you do not have enough information to answer.
1. Brooklyn’s core curriculum committees will publish “assured experiences with technology” all students at each grade level K-6 and for each core subject area in grades 7-8 (note: “assured experiences with technology” are common activities at each grade level in grades K-6 and core subject area in grades 7-8 that all students are required to complete)
2. Brooklyn students will engage in appropriate grade level projects that demonstrate student technology competency
3. Brooklyn will have access to additional resources to support development of successful practices in technology integration
4. Brooklyn students meet the Student Computer Technology Standards
5. Brooklyn teachers will have access to attend technology training
6. Brooklyn teachers will have access to funds to support the development of innovative classroom practices
7. Brooklyn teachers will have access to technology professional development each year
8. Brooklyn teachers provide distance learning opportunities for students
9. Brooklyn students and staff have access in the classroom to new technology
10. Brooklyn staff will have access to a variety of opportunities to improve their technology competency
11. Brooklyn staff will have access to equipment and materials for integrating technology into the curriculum
12. Brooklyn teachers and administrators will complete an annual technology literacy assessment
13. Brooklyn will continue to provide staff with professional development support from EASTCONN and other providers
14. Brooklyn staff will have opportunities to attend technology conferences
15. Brooklyn staff can demonstrate the effective integration of technology into content area standards that results in improved student learning
16. Network; servers, switches, wireless capability will be upgraded as required.
17. Brooklyn will maintain contracts/relationships with IT consultants
18. Brooklyn will maintain adequate internal staffing
19. Network, servers, switches, wireless capability will be upgraded as required.
20. Required staff; i.e. Technology Coordinator, part time IT professional will be hired as required
21. The technology committee in cooperation with the Special Education administrator will complete an annual survey of assistive technology needs and priorities
22. All Brooklyn students will have access to technology
23. Brooklyn will reduce performance gaps for all students
24. A technology committee member will be assigned to each core curriculum committee to facilitate integration of technology goals into curriculum
25. Brooklyn will investigate and access the NETS Online Technology Assessment (ISTE) for all grade 8 students
26. All Brooklyn students, teachers, staff and administrators have equal access to technology
27. Brooklyn has Staff Technology Team that meets monthly
28. The Brooklyn Technology Committee will meet regularly to review the progress of the technology plan implementation
29. Brooklyn has an online formative assessment system that integrates assessment data into the data warehouse
30. Brooklyn teachers and administrators use formative and summative assessment data to make instructional decisions.
31. Brooklyn teachers and administrators attend professional development on using data to improve instruction
32. Brooklyn teachers implement technology initiatives that result in improved student achievement
33. Brooklyn Technology Plan is fully funded and supported
34. Brooklyn has appropriate policies and procedures that support the implementation of the Brooklyn Technology Plan
